Our
programs and services are aimed at helping minority businesses grow and prosper
while providing corporations with information on qualified minority suppliers.
We offer an array of programs and services to our certified minority businesses
and our corporate members.
These include:
- Minority Business Certification (Asian, Black, Hispanic
and Native American) following completion of staff audit, Certification
Committee review and approval, onsite visits, and ratification by the
full board of directors.
- Referrals of minority suppliers capable of providing
quality goods and
services at competitive prices to corporate buyers.
- Access to working
capital loans to certified minority businesses.
- Networking opportunities,
organized by industry sectors, where suppliers speak directly to purchasing
agents.
- Workshops and seminars to help minority businesses manage,
promote and sell their products and services.
- Access to and participation in the Minority Business Information Systems, a national computerized
database of more than 15,000
certified minority
suppliers.
- Business opportunity fairs, which allow minority
entrepreneurs to meet with prospective buyers and provide corporations
an opportunity to recruit
prospective suppliers.
- Advanced Management Education, a
customized executive education program for CEOs of minority-owned firms
interested in
accelerated growth.
- Health insurance benefits tailored
specially for certified minority businesses with up to 50 employees.
- Annual events, such as the Supplier of the Year Awards luncheon, which
recognizes outstanding minority business
partnerships
with member corporations,
and Corporate Leadership Awards dinner, which honors
a
corporation for advancing business opportunities
with minority suppliers.
